Healing as the Recognition of Truth

This post is part of a series entitled: Reflections from A Course in Miracles. This is Section IV. Healing as Recognition of Truth in Chapter 7. The Gifts of the Kingdom.

As we have said many times before in this series;

“Truth can only be recognized and need only be recognized.”

The innate wisdom of spirit only requires recognition, it does not require the confirmation of Human senses. This is known as intuition. Inspiration also comes from the Voice of God, it is what motivates us to act on the Voice of Wisdom.

Healing, as we have discussed, is nothing more than correcting a misperception of a flaw. God does not see flaws, he knows that his creations are perfect and whole. Healing therefore does not come directly from God, because there is nothing to heal. However, your ability to heal does indeed come from him.

Spirit works through you to heal. We have already learned that through teaching peace, we acquire it, so the same holds true of the miracle, through teaching healing, we will heal.

Spirit teaches us to use what the ego has made, for a higher purpose. Spirit must teach us in order to purify or undo the false perceptions the ego has created.

The ego, of course is out for its own self interest, and does not want us to teach what we have learned. So the spirit must teach us the truth. Eventually, when we have directed all of our intentions towards the truth, we will unify the right and left hemispheres of the brain (The Ego and the Creator or spirit or intuition.) When this occurs, we no longer need to struggle because, like a magnet, that frequency we are sending out into the universe will return to us, like seeks like. Finding like-minded souls strengthens your resolve and makes it easier to police your thoughts.

“Ego always seeks to divide and separate. The Holy Spirit always seeks to unify and heal. “
