The Lessons of the Holy Spirit

This post is part of a series entitled: Reflections from A Course in Miracles. We are currently reviewing Chapter 6 The Lessons of Love. This is part V. The Lessons of the Holy Spirit.

When children awaken from a bad dream, we tell them the dream is not real, the dream is over, or that they are safe now, in the light of day. We must help them distinguish between dream and life. Between night and day.

When morning arrives, we wake them gently, letting them feel safe and secure in the light and we provide soothing routines as they enter sleep in order to provide an atmosphere of safety.

In the same way, Spirit seeks to teach us that when we are in pain, we are merely dreaming. We need only look to the light of the Kingdom of God for that love and safety.

“His light is always the Call to awaken, whatever you have been dreaming.”
