This post is part of a series entitled: Reflections from A Course in Miracles. We are reviewing Chapter 5 Healing and Wholeness, Section II, The Voice for God, part 2.
In part one, we learned that we have both the voice of the ego and the voice of the “Holy spirit” within each of us. Remember if you are agnostic or atheist or struggle with the use of “Holy Spirit” Here, feel free to interchange it with divine intuition or universal consciousness or whatever term you feel more comfortable with. The message is the same, regardless of what we call it, it is the voice of reason, as opposed to the voice of the ego.
During the separation from the divine, when we chose to live on earth in human form, we chose to create the ego. We have the power to choose which voice to listen to, either the ego or the spirit. Because we have divine free choice, we will not be directed, demanded or coerced to follow divine intuition. We may be guided to a choice, but the choice always remains ours. Forcing this choice upon us removes the element of Free Will, which is not the intent.
“My mind will always be like yours, because we were created as equals. It was only my decision that gave me all power in Heaven and earth. My only gift to you is to help you make the same decision. This decision is the choice to share it, because the decision itself is the decision to share.”
We each have the ability to access this vital stream of direct wisdom from spirit, should we choose to pay attention, the key is learning to pay attention and making the choice to do so. This voice of the spirit guides us to choose what is right and lead us to the kingdom of heaven. It is a return to our natural state, where we are one with spirit (before the creation of the ego).
The ego exists in each of us, we need only make the choice to turn toward the voice of spirit. It is the divine purpose of each of us to attend to this call. When we are tempted to follow the ego instead of spirit, we need only ask for divine guidance and listen to the instructions in order to return to the right path, the road less taken.
“When you are tempted by the wrong voice, call on me to remind you how to heal by sharing my decision and making it stronger.”
As each of us awakens, it becomes our purpose and our drive to help others find the path.
Our task is the joyous one of waking it to the call for God. Everyone will answer the Call of the Holy Spirit, or Sonship cannot be as one. What better vocation could there be for any part of the Kingdom than to restore it to the perfect integration that can make it whole? Hear only this through the Holy Spirit within you, and teach your brothers to listen as I am teaching you.”
“As we share this goal, we increase its power to attract the whole Sonship, and to bring it back into oneness in which it was created.”
After each of us perceives the revelation, or return to the whole, it becomes a responsibility to share these ideas of wholeness, in order to attract others to the path of light.
“Remember that “yoke” means “join together,” and “burden” means “Message.” Let us restate, “My yoke is easy and my burden light” in this way; “Let us join together for my message is light.”
Each of us has the Holy Spirit within us, because we are one and the same with it, it is part of us. Each of us has the divine choice to choose “right” and “wrong,” to choose ego or spirit. Each of us when called upon by spirit has a duty to share the “Right” path which is a path of light.
